Abstract

This study aims to analyze and determine priority food crop commodities for development to enhance food security in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was employed, considering five criteria: productivity, land availability, contribution to farmers’ income, market demand, and resilience to environmental conditions. The results show that the contribution to farmers’ income is the most dominant criterion, followed by market demand. Corn ranked as the most prospective commodity to be developed, followed by rice and cassava. These findings suggest that developing priority commodities using a multicriteria approach can be an  affective strategy to strengthen regional food security.
